A nod to things that make life simple...

In today's fast paced world we have a lot of gadgets and gizmo's designed to make our lives a bit more simple. I would just like to take a second to throw out a few public service announcements about new toys which make things a little easier and I really love!

First- everyone needs to go out and get themselves a navigation system. Yesterday I took a drive to visit my Grandfather. For the very first time in THIS girls life I drove on I-95! On Friday my travels took me on I-78 both roads previously untraveled by this driver for fear I would be terribly lost and never ever make it home.

This simple little computer which I affix to my dashboard tells me turn by turn where I need to go and finally gives the directionally challenged freedom to just pick up and go on a moments notice so long as you have an address to where you are headed.

GPS Prices will fluctuate and get better around holidays, so keep your eyes peeled and go get one. In the last 2 weeks I have driven places I would have otherwise passed by, and honestly can not wait to get in the car and drive somewhere new!!

This ends my PSA for the Tom Tom ONE.

Now onto kitchen gadgets!!! Everyone who knows me well knows that I just LOVE my kitchen. Gadgets and gizmo's for the kitchen just make me smile!

In the last several months we have invested in some really great kitchen items which I would like to share.

My first kitchen love is the Teavana perfect tea maker. you can find them at http://www.teavana.com/ For those of you who love loose leaf tea you will find this gadget to be the coolest tea pot in the world. Just put your tea leaves in the pot, add boiling water and steep. When ready to put in your mug just lift the device off of the coaster, place atop your mug and voila! A perfect cup of tea with out tea leaves floating in your teeth!

My second new favorite gadget is the touch less trashcan. These items can get kind of pricey, so for this one I went to the bargain hunters paradise... EBAY! Just a trashcan, but no need to worry about picking up germs from touching the can because you wave your hand over the sensor and it opens. I love it because I don't have to look at a messy trash can lid because someone decided to throw away a plate of spaghetti and hit the white lid with spaghetti sauce. AND- It looks cool... Doesn't everyone need a cool looking trashcan?

Then there is SimpleHuman Grocery Bag holder. I used to have a paper grocery bag in the pantry which the plastic grocery bags would go into when I got home from the store. I got tired of looking at the mess which was that corner of the pantry and got this nifty little gadget. It hangs on the wall, looks nice and gets rid of the mess!

And finally... my newest find- The SimpleHuman U-Frame dish rack. I absolutely loathe washing dishes, but my dishwasher has decided not to work properly so I've been washing everything by hand. For years I have used a cheap plastic dish rack that does not drain water properly spilling the water out onto the counter, then soaking the front of my shirt. Every single time I washed dishes I would finish soaked and irritated. Then I found this Gem: somewhat pricey for a dish rack, but no more wet shirts! And in the words of my cynical husband "that is the coolest dish rack I have ever seen!" (from simplehuman.com) "The simplehuman u-frame two level dish rack features two full levels of storage space, so you have twice as much room for drying. Large capacity is perfect for busy kitchens. Upper shelf is detachable for storage. Specially designed loops safely dry cups and wine glasses. An adjustable spout allows for draining on the longer or shorter side of dish rack."

*Simple human products can be purchased online at www.simplehuman.com or any Lowe's or Bed bath and beyond store

This concludes my public service announcements for today. If you decide to try any of these wonderful products let me know what you think! I tend to be quite picky, so when something I love comes along I like to share! Enjoy!!

Until next time...
